The Curious Heifer

In an effort to practice lost and found edges, i played with this image of a few of our heifers and manipulated it in iPhoto. Ramping up the contrast, a few lost edges revealed themselves. I just love computer manipulation!

At Ease

I like taking lots of pictures while my husband ropes. It gives me something to do then and then later when I paint them. This painting is of a fellow that was watching a roping practice. I was drawn to the way he was sitting half cocked. Exactly what we all do when we’ve been in the saddle too long and are sitting there waiting. It helps ease the ache in the lower area!

This is my son…Cedar

So, after painting my daughter, I felt guilty that I hadn’t painted my son yet. I have lots of pictures, but just hadn’t gotten around too it! So I looked through my photos and finally chose this one. He’s taking a break from roping practice and I can tell he’s thinking about the last few runs and evaluating them in his head. I was drawn to the contemplative look and the dark cast shadow from the hat.

From Grandma’s Kitchen

My good friend Mollie Jones issued a challenge…..choose one of her photos to paint. There were several that i liked and therefore couldn’t choose just one. I had to do two! I liked the first one because of the washed out sunlit feel….I could almost smell the towel that had been dried out on the clothes line. WhatAPeach-watercolor-WynaWoodford-15x11
15×11 “What A Peach” 140# FA rough paper

The second painting gave me more of a peachy feel. Those peach preserves just looked so good that i could almost taste them, and could smell the wonderful aroma of warn home made bread covered with butter and peach preserves! YUM!

Australian Terriers

A neighbor of mine has an Australian Terrier named Mozzie, and so do several of her family members. She asked me to paint them. I only got through two of them.
